Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit Mapping

Part of any Stormwater Management Plan is knowing where your stormwater infrastructure features are located. AppGeo has worked with many communities to locate, attribute and map local stormwater systems with ‘tried and true’ data formats and standards. Depending on the jurisdiction, these features may include:

  • Outfalls and receiving waters (required by previous permit)
  • Open channel conveyances
  • Municipally-owned stormwater treatment structures
  • Outfall spatial location
  • Waterbodies identified by name and indication of all use impairments
  • Initial catchment delineations
  • Pipes, manholes, and catch basins
  • Storm and sanitary sewer material, size, and age
  • Privately-owned stormwater treatment structures
  • Area where the permittee’s MS4 has received or could receive flow from septic systems discharges
  • Seasonal high water table elevations impacting sanitary alignments
  • Topography
  • Orthophotography
  • Alignments, dates, and representation of work completed (with legend) of past illicit discharge investigations
  • Locations of suspected, confirmed and corrected illicit discharges (with dates and flow estimates)

AppGeo also assists in coordinating other elements of the permitting requirements including survey research, maintenance planning (leaves, plowing, cleaning) and communication with interconnected MS4’s. We can help, wherever you are in the process, from locating outfalls in the field, to more advanced spatial analyses of your stormwater system.
