AppGeo’s program for transformed GIS for Minnesota developed a program design and implementation plan and included a detailed “cost to government” analysis of the current way of doing business and identified cost savings associated with the proposed plan.  Based on this report the Land Management Information Center (LMIC) received the go-ahead from the Governor’s Office to draft legislation to create the Minnesota Geospatial Information Office (MGIO) within the Department of Administration, and the legislation passed in July 2009.
