Abstract: This layer was assembled following evaluation of primary commercial and public data for airports within the project study area. Major commercial data providers offer this layer as a point set with varying attributes and at least one (NavTech) provides coarse polygonal boundaries of airports as well. Airports are available as points from the US Census and in slightly enhanced forms from ESRI and other firms as a give-away foundation base data resource. AGI consolidated attribute data for airport locations and digitized accurate installation boundaries using MassGIS 2001 color orthophotos as base reference. These polygons provide perimeters for extents of airport property as well as an inclusion boundary for associated buildings, runways and taxiways.
