Crime Mapping, E911 Dispatch, & Notification Systems

CrimeShow mapping capabilities support Boston Police Departments COMSTAT Meetings
AppGeo Director of Software Architecture and Developer, Peter Girard, led the development of CrimeShow for the Boston Police Department. The desktop application was designed specifically to be used in COMSTAT meetings to facilitate discussion and enable interactive review and visualization of crime activity.  CrimeShow allows the BPD to summarize and map crime activity according to their specific geographies - districts, beats - or to define an area on the fly using simple tools.  Crime summary bar charts can display crime activity for an area by time of day, shift, day of week, month, or year.  Display of street level photos, crime sheet data, and other information is linked to crime incident points and map locations.  Overall crime context is provided in the map through the ability to display (and add) data layers showing the locations of parks, schools, public transportation stops, and aerial photography.

E911 fire dispatch applications help local fire departments see properties and manage responses
AppGeo has worked with municipalities to design and deliver easy-to-use and affordable tools for presenting maps and information about properties for E911 dispatch operaters.  The desktop applications are directly connected to E911 systems and enable the operator to immediately zoom to the callers property, including the option to display  photogrammetric data layers - streets, buildings, fire hydrants, fence lines, water bodies, land use type, etc., and aerial photography.  Depending upon the needs and preferences of the dispatch operation, AppGeo can add functionality to the map and application, such as automated locating of nearest fire hydrants and distance measurement, or tracking of emergency vehicle assignments to events.  Export capabilities enable all call locations to be saved and mapped for later analysis, such as frequent call hotspot identification.

Mapping capabilities allow geographic area selection for automated telephone notification systems
AppGeo worked with a provider of automated telephone calling systems software to develop and integrate a mapping capability that would allow the operator to scribe or select an area on a map and use this to define the range of addresses to be automatically dialed by the system.   This capability enables rapid and accurate designation of the call area based on a relevant geographic information, such as within a certain distance from an incident, or along a coridor or road system, and so forth.
