AppGeo's Trace Tool simplifies the critical tasks of water system valve isolation and customer notification.  In the event of a water break, rapid identifying and locating of shut off valves reduces costly water losses and repair crew time.  For emergency or routine maintenance, the tool automates the process of identifying and contacting affected customers.

The user simply clicks on a water main at the location of a break or maintenance program. The tool identifies the gate values which need to be shut off in order to isolate this section of the system.  A buffer automatically drawn around this water main section determines customers within the affected area and generates a report of their contact and billing information.  The user has the option of identifying affected customers using meter point, service connection line, or parcel features.
