Integrated Facilities Data System for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard AppGeo developed a secure Intranet-based Integrated Facilities Data (IFD) information system for Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, including a map-centric, drill-down approach to mining facilities information throughout the shipyard in a standard Web browser. Building floor plans, facilities data, and general base map layers are linked by the system. A variety of databases, both departmental and corporate, in a variety of departments are accessible through the IFD system to assist users around the shipyard in making informed and effective decisions. Among the modules available are an on-line work request system with Mark-the-Spot capabilities, and a building data server with links to trouble calls and contract drawings, and environmental maps. The system is linked to the Naval Facilities Asset Database (NFAD) for corporate asset information in an Oracle RDBMS. AppGeo continues to maintain and enhance the site with new modules, functionality and technology. |

Integrated Installation Management (I2M) for the US Navy Atlantic Fleet The Atlantic Fleet operates 24 shore installations on the Atlantic coast and centrally manages maintenance budgets. A standardized and efficient way for reporting deficiencies and resource requirements was needed to support asset management and to monitor and maintain installation readiness. Under subcontract to Unity Consultants, AppGeo led the design and development effort to build a fleet-wide portal that provides secure access to up-to-date facility data standardized across all installations, and a series of Web services, and Extraction, Transformation, and Load tools for harvesting and consolidating data from different installations into a central repository. The portal interface enables map-based and textual queries and presents thematically shaded installation maps based on parameters such as building condition, age, values and maintenance cost. I2M received authority to operate in 2002, and met the requirements of the Defense Information Technology Security and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP). As a result of I2M, the Fleet has a consistent, up-to-date, and consolidated view of facility data from different systems and installations that enhances readiness, management, and operations. |

A Capital Project Status Tracking and Planning Web site for the State University of New Jersey Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, hired AppGeo to create an easy-to-use Website that could act as a single reference for information on capital projects for the several campuses and hundreds of buildings that make up the University. Capital project managers, university administrators, and facilities staff can now quickly see the geographic location of capital projects along with current information on the status of those projects both in summary and detail form, including on-screen map and tabular display, and printable user generated maps and standard status reports. |

Space Management System for a major research university Working with the Department of Facilities, AppGeo helped to design and develop an innovative Intranet-based system for visualizing and reporting on space utilization across the campus. The Space Management System (SMS) links interactive maps of campus and building room plans to a database of space utilization and space characteristics, and provides detailed reporting and charting capabilities. The application incorporates many innovative approaches to campus visualization, such as presenting georeferenced and integrated floor plans that enable campus wide thematic mapping on a floor by floor basis showing rooms shaded according to various parameters - departmental assignment, space type, etc.
