Carroll County, Virginia's Online GIS Viewer was launched in the fall of 2009 (see also Carroll County Press Release).
The base site design has three tabs across the top for (1) basic property mapping, (2) interactive layer selection and map creation from a wide variety of county data layers (shown to left), and for (3) automating the identification and mapping of abutters to a selected property. The application also features map mark up capabilities (using AppGeo's Mark-the-Spot® technology), area and linear distance measurement tools, and a find coordinate location tool. The site is extensible and scalable to meet future county plans and requirements for the display of additional data or the inclusion of new functions. AppGeo hosts the application on behalf of the County.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) chose AppGeo's GPV™ - a configurable web mapping and spatial content management software - to spatially enable its REALMS database system. REALMS stands for Right of Way Electronic Acquisition and Land Management System. See also press release. More than 20 distinct use cases were enabled by configuring the GPV using a collaborative and agile deployment approach.
The Web‐based capability will enable Mn/DOT to spatially view REALMS entities, such as projects and parcels, and to track status, boundaries, and relationships associated with the data stored in the REALMS system. GPV data viewing, analysis, and reporting capabilities will be launched in context from the REALMS application, and the GPV will allow the user to return to the REALMS application to view tabular details of the currently selected feature.

The Boston Public Health Commission website has a link for BostonHealthPASS.org (click on icon on left of page with that name) that enables the user to search for and find on a map health facilities in and around Boston. The application search page has a variety of filters - address, neighborhood, facility or provider type and name, and facility/provider attributes, such as whether they are accepting new patients.
The application is innovative in several key ways: (1) It leverages free commercial services (GoogleMaps) with existing GIS server infrastructure (ArcGIS Server); (2) Templates for the map viewing application can be configured and "reused" for other viewers in other City departments; and (3) It integrates the City of Boston's base map tiles with GoogleMaps tiles, e.g., large-area views are standard GoogleMaps tiles, and zoomed in detail represents City of Boston detailed data.

The Cape Cod Commercial Hook Fishermen's Association required an ecosystem-based tool to help manage fishing and catch information for groundfish. AppGeo worked with the Association to design and build a desktop application to support this goal. The larger map shows a grid shaded by intensity of fishing activity. The zoomed-in map shows point data of individual fishing trips on top of the aggregated activity data. The application facilitates analysis of fishing activity, including days at sea, fishing locations, species and weight caught, gear filters, landings and fish discards. The goal is to efficiently manage sector fish catch within federal quota restrictions.

The City of Peabody, Massachusetts collaborated with AppGeo to create this neighborhood map that shows all properties and parcels thematically shaded by their zoning or land model. Anomalies (properties of one type surrounded by properties of another type) stand out for further analysis and possibly correction. The process of linking the parcel and property information data and creating the thematic map provides inputs to the required triennial reporting to the MA Department of Revenue.
